Rare Disease Day 2016

Hey everyone!  Today's post is going to be a little different than usual.  I have decided to share a little bit about myself.  I am sharing this to bring awareness along with understanding for those who suffer from rare diseases.

You may not realize I have rare diseases, but I do!  Mine are what's known as invisible illnesses.  I may look well on the outside, but on the inside is another story.  I suffer from Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Disorder, along with POTTS/Dysautonomia.

I started this little blog of mine to stay positive and enjoy life.  Even though I live with chronic pain and health issues, I don't let it slow me down.  I enjoy shopping, sight-seeing, spending time with my friends and family, going to the movies, and so much more.  I have learned to accept change.  I am not able to do as much as I used to, but I have learned to enjoy my new life.  It's hard to share this because we {those with chronic illnesses} are not out to look for sympathy or have a pity party.  All we want is understanding.

Please take time to to watch the video on Rare Disease Day 2016.   It would mean so much to me.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!  Also, be sure to spread the word on social media by using the hashtag #RareDiseaseDay2016.

Mast Cell Activation Disorder

What is Mastocytosis? Mastocytosis (mas-toe-sigh-toe-sis) is a disorder caused by having too many mast cells in a person's body. Mast cells are a kind of blood cell that is located in the skin, the lining of the stomach, connective tissue (such as cartilage or tendons) and intestines. Mast cells are important for survival. They help defend the skin, stomach, and intestines against diseases. Mast cells are also involved in healing wounds.:

Classic Burgundy

This might be my favorite outfit I have worn this winter.  I love a timeless, classic, outfit.  Whenever I don't know what to wear, I always go back to my white oxford.  You can make it preppy, chic, edgy, dressy, and just about anything else.  The best part, it never goes out of style.  It's a staple for every gal's wardrobe!  As for the jacket I'm wearing, you could say I'm obsessed!  I got it last week for only $17!  I couldn't  believe it.  I was expecting it to be at least $50 or $60.  It reminds me of something from J.Crew.  Unfortunately, it's not available online, but it might still be available in stores {I got it at Kohls}!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Spring Fever

It's  around  this time of year that I start craving a tropical vacation.  Just like everyone else, I am done with the cold and gloomy weather.  Mother Nature, please bring on the sunshine and rainbows! ;)

Anyway, since we still have a little while before the warmer weather returns, I thought I would share the items I am loving for spring.  My favorite item from this collage is the Rebecca Minkoff Tassel Handbag.  It is perfect handbag for spring and summer.  I also love the blue aviators that are only $14!  They look just like the  Ray Bans, but with a much better price tag.

Happy Wednesday!

Until next time,

A Whale of A Day In the Snow

Vineyard Vines T-shirt // Similar Pink Turtleneck Here & Here // Similar Beanie

It snowed this week and I couldn't be happier!   I absolutely love the snow.  So, when it started snowing early Tuesday morning,  I got outside as fast as I could.  It was much colder than I thought!  So, I didn't stay out very long. ;)

As for my outfit, I put on as many layers as I possibly could!  I know it doesn't look like it, but I have three pairs of pants on.  Yes, three!  Annnnnd, I have three sweaters on.  My Vineyard Vines t-shirt is my favorite t-shirt I own.  It is the softest shirt you will ever feel.  As I have said before, Vineyard Vines t-shirts are great for those days when you want to look cute yet feel comfortable.

On a side note, these pictures make me realize that I am in need of a tan.....

Until next time,
