21 Things to do on Your Spring Break at Home {Link-Up}

Spring Break is drawing near, and I couldn't be happier!  Even though I am not traveling anywhere this year, I have some fun and exciting plans to keep me busy.  I am so excited to be collaborating with some amazing bloggers to share Spring Break related blog posts.  For today's post, I am sharing 21 things you can do on your Spring Break at home.  This link up is hosted by Olivia of NC Prepsters, so click right here to see all the other posts!

1. Explore Your City

No matter how long you have lived in your city, there's a chance you haven't seen all of it.  I know I haven't!  For my spring break, I plan on doing some exploring.  Either by going to a trendy coffee shop,  doing some sight seeing, or even a little shopping.

2. Clean Out Your Closet

It's a new season.  The perfect time to go through your wardrobe and decide on what to keep and what to donate.  Plus, it's another good excuse to go shopping!  Here is a great article on how to de-clutter / organize your closet whether it's big or small.

3.  Make an Inspiration Board

Inspiration boards can give you, well you guessed it, inspiration!  I have mine hung up in my closet.  I'll either cut pictures out of magazines or print pictures off of Pinterest to put on my board.

4. Have Me Time

It's always good to take time for yourself.  Either by reading a book, taking a warm bubbly bath, or even listening to music.  Taking time for yourself is a great way to de-stress and forget about reality for awhile.

5. Do a Fun Photo Shoot

This is one of my favorite things to do!  I know, I know, the thought of being in front of the camera can be pretty intimidating.  I feel the same way sometimes.  Bring a group of friends or go by yourself {and your photographer of course!}  If it makes you feel more comfortable, go to an open field instead of somewhere public.  Oh, and bring some props too!

6. Take a Walk

Spring is the perfect opportunity to get outside.  After being stuck inside during the long winter months, I enjoy taking walks at the park to get some sunshine and fresh air!

7. Try a New Recipe

Spring Break is the perfect time to go through your Pinterest boards and do a little cooking.  Whether it be a strawberry shortcake, mango smoothie or a delicious homemade pizza.  Here is my favorite waffle recipe!

8. Start Planning Your Summer Getaway

Don't be too bummed if you're not going anywhere for Spring Break,  Summer Vacation is right around the corner!  Now you can start counting down the days until that glorious day.  I'm already dreaming of long days on the beach, darker skin, and warmer weather!

9. Buy Some Flowers for Yourself or Someone Else

I don't know about you, but flowers cheer me right up!  If you can't already tell, I love flowers!  I know it would make someone's day 168071048 times better if you bought them beautiful flowers.

10. Buy a Fun Umbrella

Gotta get ready for those April showers, right?

11. Open the Windows

There's nothing better than opening the windows on a nice spring day.  Letting the sunshine and fresh, clean air into your home is so refreshing after having to keep the windows closed during winter months.
12. Make a "Happy" Playlist

Every month or so I like to make a new playlist of the songs I have been loving.  I love to listen to music while I clean my room or while I get ready in the morning.  It really gets me moving!  Below are a few songs I have been loving lately...

Upside Down - Jack Johnson

Wildest Dreams - Taylor Swift

Moonlight Serenade - Frank Sinatra

Little Black Dress - Sara Bareilles

I Do Adore - Mindy Gledhill

Acoustic Guitar {instrumental music}

Go On - Jack Johnson

The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatra

13. Go to the Movies

Something I've always thought to be fun was going to a drive in movie theater!  Fun fact, I've never been to one.  I know, I am totally missing out!  One thing that is on my spring / summer bucket list is to go to a drive in movie theater!

14. Throw a Pinterest Craft Party

If you have never heard of a Pinterest craft party, you are missing out. ;)  First, let me explain what it is.  A Pinterest craft party is where you and a group of friends pick out a craft from Pinterest and do it together.  Below are a few of my favorite DIYs!

15. Write a Letter to a Friend

We live in a world that is so consumed with Facebook and Twitter.  When was the last time you sat down and wrote a letter?  An actual handwritten letter?  While I'm on Spring Break I plan on writing some letters to my friends and family.  I'm really excited about it too!

16. Have a Picnic at the Park

Picnics at the park are one of my favorite things to do.  On a lovely spring day, pack a picnic and head on over to your local park.  Why not?  You could go with your family or gather a group of friends to go with you.

17. Go Hit Some Golf Balls

Something fun to do is go to a driving range to hit golf balls.  I plan on doing this during the spring and summer months.  Trust me, you'll love it!

18. Wear a Dress

It's time to pack all of your sweaters away and drag out all of your dresses.  If it's still chilly where you live, just throw on a cardigan and you should be good to go!  Unless there's three feet of snow where you live.  Then you might want to bundle up a little more! ;)

19. Decorate Your House With Flowers

As I said in #8, flowers cheer me right up!  So, why not decorate your whole house with them?  Flowers will immediately make your home feel bright and cheery!  My personal faves are Peonies. :)
20. Donate to an Animal Shelter

There are so many ways you could help an animal shelter!  You could donate newspapers, beds and blankets, or make toys and dog biscuits.  The list goes on and on. Here is a great article on ways you can help your local shelter!

21.  Go on a Shopping Spree!

You know what they say, #treatyoself.  As I said in #2, go through your closet and get rid of what you don't want anymore.  Then, treat yourself to that top you've been eyeing at J.Crew.  You know you want to!
